Magnet - family connection app

In this rapidly evolving era of technology, countless apps are striving to impress users with flashy new features and innovative interaction methods. However, this environment often becomes unfriendly to the elderly. Due to differences in location, time zones, and lifestyle, it's also difficult for them to maintain real-time communication with their children.

We wanted to improve this situation. So we created a new, stress-free asynchronous communication tool. Our inspiration came from the sticky notes often found on refrigerator doors — and that's why the app is called Magnet. The entire app is designed like a digital fridge canvas. Users can post all kinds of content — including photos, text, voice messages, or even drawings using an iPad and Apple Pencil. These notes are shared on the family's board, where every family member can view and respond to them. All messages are stored in an archive and gradually turn into meaningful memories.

This project was built by me and four amazing teammates during the UTS | Apple Foundation Program. It’s still being refined and actively developed. It was selected for the 2025 UTS WiseTech Showcase. And we plan to release it on the App Store in the near future.
