War of Balloons

A fast-paced multiplayer game developed using the Godot engine during the 2025 UTS Game Jam, co-hosted by Riot Games and MSI.

Inspired by the theme “Enlarge”, the game features two players controlling balloons in a chaotic arena. The goal is to collect as much randomly spawned gas as possible within a limited time and store it in a central gas collector. Gas stored by both players will cancel each other out, and the player who dominates more collectors wins.

As the balloons gather more gas, they expand in size and slow down, adding a dynamic risk-reward balance. To spice things up, we also implemented a weapon system — players can shoot in the direction they’re moving, and if they hit their opponent, the opponent’s balloon will leak gas and lose progress.

This project was built from scratch in just two days and gave me my first hands-on experience in game development — from gameplay design and rapid prototyping to collaboration under pressure.
